Short scientific CV

My name is Antón Pérez-Rodríguez and I'm a Spanish biologist. As a researcher, I have worked mainly at the Complutense University of Madrid (Spain), the University of Burgundy (France), and the University of the Free State (South Africa).

Since the time of my PhD project, my main research line has revolved around understanding the factors that drive symbiont diversity in space and time, using birds (mainly blackcaps Sylvia atricapilla), avian blood parasites and feather mites as model species. I have further participated on several side projects studying parasite diversity of many bird species/regions, the coexistence of migratory and sedentary populations of some bird species, or the evolutionary significance of lizard colouration. You may find a complete list of my publications at my Google Scholar profile.

At present I'm no longer working as a full-time researcher; in 2019 jumped to the other side of the University counter and now I perform administrative work. Nevertheless, I still collaborate with many of my former colleagues and I have several unfinished (but hopefully soon-to-be-finished) manuscripts on their way. You may find any research-related news of myself in my Twitter account @antricapilla.
